Chartered Building Companies

Robert Ozols Limited, based in Lancashire near Lancaster and Morecambe, is registered as a Chartered Building Company (CBC).

For a building company to be registered (CBC) it must be run by qualified professionals who must ensure that the majority of their directors and partners are qualified members of relevant chartered institutions and that a significant proportion are corporate members of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Health and safety

Health and safety are the predominant factors in the construction industry. Robert Ozols has qualified as an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaps) for CDM (2015) as principal designer.

What does this mean? A principal designer is a designer who is an organisation or individual (on smaller projects) appointed by the client to take control of the pre-construction phase of any project involving a principal contractor.

Principal designers have an important role in influencing how risks to health and safety are managed throughout a project. Design decisions made during the pre-construction phase have a significant influence in ensuring the project is delivered in a way that secures the health and safety of everyone affected by the work.
